I have some extremely exciting news to share with you all. As you know, I am studying fashion management in Toronto (Humber College), and I got the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Aberdeen, Scotland (RGU) for part of my third year!!!!! I am beyond excited. like it really does not feel real. I have never been to Europe, so of course I’m going to be doing some travelling before I go to school.
My first stop is London, then taking the train to Paris, flying over to Rome (I’ll be there for my 20th birthday!), then over to Germany and finally to the last stop, Scotland. I’ll be doing so many things and each day will bring something new. I can’t wait to share my days with all of you! I bought a new camera so my pics will be extra fleek and I’m going to try to vlog my trip and make a few videos as well.
Make sure you’re following me on Instagram @hungry4style_ to keep up with all the action. I seriously cannot wait to take outfit pics beside the Eiffel Tower or down a cobblestone path in London. Also, if you have any places to eat, shop or see in any of the places mentioned above, please, please share in the comments below or on my Instagram.
I’m so excited to share this journey with all of you and I hope you like the posts!!
I thought I would do a different type of post today and show you my necklace collection. I am pretty nosy and love seeing what is in people’s closet or makeup collection. I’m going to split this post into two parts; my statement necklaces and my everyday necklaces. I want to share how I wear them and why I love them. I have a lot more silver then gold because I find silver goes with a lot more colours and outfits. Hopefully this gives you some new ideas on how to wear your necklaces!
So here are the statement necklaces I have on rotation. Be sure to head over to my Instagram to see these necklaces in action!
This is the ultimate statement necklace and I usually like to wear it with a plain tee or flannel. All the attention has to be on the necklace, duh. I like the edgy, rocker vibe it gives off. This one is from Aldo.
This is my latest addition and I am obsessed. Like I said in my Instagram post, I feel like an Egyptian queen when I put it on. I think wearing a white top looks amazing with this colour of gold. Or maybe I feel like a tanned goddess when I wear it. This one is from Dynamite.
Apparently coins are the new thing in necklaces and apparently I am obsessed with them. This necklaces is a little toned down but still grabs most of the attention when wearing it. It fits a bit tighter on the neck so it is kind of like a chocker style. I wear this necklace a lot, with dressy tanks, tees, dresses. This one is from Express.
The necklaces reminds me of the chains that members of punk rock bands wear, and I’m kind of digging it. This one is also pretty toned down so it’s really easy to style with, you can basically wear any shirt. This one is from Dynamite.
I have worn this one quite a bit and I love the layers of thin chain, it adds a cool draping effect. It’s pretty simple but adds a lot of cool detail to your outfit. Recently, I actually wore this necklace hanging off a pair of distressed, black skinnies and I LOVED IT. I saw Gigi Hadid wear it as one of her festival looks and I died. I came back to earth and am obsessed with doing it. This one is from Express.
I bought this romper a few weeks ago and haven’t worn it yet. Story of my life. Mostly because I didn’t have anywhere to wear it too, as I thought it would be a ‘going out’ romper. But I’ve wanted to wear it sooooo badly and I thought that there must be a way for me to style it for during the day (casual). The first idea that came to mind was add some sneakers and wrap a flannel around my waist. Turns out, it really dressed down the romper and now I can wear it to run errands or go for lunch. I then realized that I also do want to be able to wear this out into the evening, maybe for some drinks or a walk downtown. Here are my versions of a day to night outfit with only making a couple simple and quick changes. This could also work for your LBD that’s been hanging in your closet with nowhere to go. Hope you enjoy!!
Really simple, minimal jewelry and light makeup.
To create the ‘NIGHT’ look, I chucked my sneakers and flannel to the side, added a bold lip, put my hair half up, added a simple necklace (because I didn’t want to overpower the lace detailing on the romper) and put on some comfy block heel sandals.
I think these two looks are total opposites and buying pieces that are versatile like this; are great for a busy lifestyle and your wallet.

In the old days, women used to buy a new wardrobe for each season but now a days that ain’t the case. For us women who don’t want to spend a lot to update our wardrobe, I came up with a list of pieces to update your closet for the Spring season, for under $100. SCORE!!! I usually find that buying new accessories like bags, scarves, shoes and only a couple tops/bottoms will revamp your wardrobe. Hope you enjoy and comment what you like best!!
Since the weather is warming up and you’ll be going out more, you’ll want a bag that is versatile and can carry all your goodies without feeling like you’re carrying 200lbs on your shoulder | Forever 21 $27.90
Spring can still be a little chilly, so opt for a lighter scarf that still adds depth to your outfits. Make sure to get one that matches your Spring jackets. Paisley is back for Spring and adds a twist to the classic floral pattern. | Dynamite $19.95
Spring=Rain and it sucks, but get double the wear out of the coat you buy for Spring. This rain coat will keep you dry but still makes you look so good and Spring-y…is that a word? Say goodbye to those bright yellow rain coats and make a statement in a good way. | Asos $38.73
Time to shoes those little piggies! Lol for real though, this open toe/open heel bootie gives a fresh new look to your black ankle bootie. Fresh new look, fresh flowers means Spring. | Forever 21 $39.90
Switch out your black skinnies for a pair of lighter wash denim. Try a boyfriend fit, high rise or distressed pair to change it up. Sheinside $21.33
For a grand total of $147.81 you can get all these items (or ones similar) to give your wardrobe a fresh new look for Spring. These items can easily be paired with colours and styles from your existing wardrobe which means you don’t have to spend a lot to change it up. Also buying a new lip colour or blush is a great addition to your Spring look. Try out a coral/peachy blush and a pink lip.
Mixing patterns can be tricky to pull off, but once you get it, your outfit looks amazing. I went for more subtle pattern mixing, with a plaid flannel and leopard print sneakers. Since both pieces are at opposite ends of the body, nothing clashed. I also haven’t worn my wool hat in a while and I felt like throwing it on, one of those last minute decisions. Have a great Friday!!
Spring is in two days and who knows if the nice weather will come with it. But, just incase, I wanted to share my idea of the three must-have Spring coats. We can say goodbye with pleasure to those huge, wool-lined winter parkas and give a warm welcome to lighter, and more wearable spring coats. Ohhh, the excitement!!! Let me know in the comments what style is your favourite and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram: @hungry4style_
The Trench Coat
Everybody’s talking about the classic trench coat, and for good reason. It’s versatile, feminine, and looks great on every body shape.
The Pastel Leather (faux) Jacket
Play up the normal leather jacket with a fun colour, one that will go with almost anything in your closet.
For the warmer days, throw this coat over top of your outfit to instantly look all put together (even though you probably already do).
It’s been quite a long time since my last blog post, which I don’t like, but school always comes first in my life right now and I’ve just finished doing my midterms…FINALLY!!! For my fellow students, I feel you’re pain and hope you did well on your midterms! Along with finally being finished midterms, it seems as though the weather has warmed up, again, FINALLY!!! Needless to say, things are going well. I don’t want to jinx it though, because usually halfway through March another snow storm comes our way… the joys of living in Canada.
On another note, I’ve noticed that it has become pretty trendy to start buying flowers and post pics of them on Instagram, is this the new movement? Kind of like posting your meal before you eat? I don’t really care much for buying flowers or having them in my house, but I mean they are damn beautiful. All these pics are making me even more excited for Spring, because soon, lawns and parks will be full of colourful flowers. I’ll be posting my fav pics from Pinterest and WeHeartIt to get ya’ll in the mood for Spring! And maybe, if we all come together, our mind power will legitimately change the weather to warm, Spring weather, for good…lol. Also, just wanted to quote The Devil Wears Prada, “Florals? for Spring? Groundbreaking” because I keep gravitating toward floral patterns right now. Comment if you agree!
**As mentioned above, all pics taken from Pinterest and WeHeartIt**
Let me start off by saying that wearing these jeans on a day where the weather was like -100 degrees, was a horrible idea. I do it for the fashion and I’m sure many of you can relate..lol (especially my fellow Toronto/NYC bloggers).
Lately, I’ve been liking the idea of wearing oversized layers, and it helps when the weather is extremely cold. It’s fun to mix up patterns, fabrics and textures to create a look with depth. I’ve worn this tank and sweater combo before, with leather leggings, but this time I wanted a more grunge/loose/casual style. And what bottoms came to mind? BOYFRIEND JEANS.. DUH!! The bagginess of the jeans and the size of the rips played into the style I was going for. I had to throw on a hat or else I think my head was going to freeze off so I hope you like my ‘salt and pepper’ matching.. ha..ha…
