outfits 9+10 | 15 pieces.. 20 ways

The easiest way to make a lot of outfits from a limited amount of pieces is to layer. Layering is also key when it comes to the cold weather. Speaking of cold weather, dannnnnng, it has been getting colder and colder. I needed to get the outfits with the skirt done because soon enough, everything will be covered by my huge winter parka.

THE 15 PIECES ARE: jacket, cardigan, tank, lace-up shirt, flannel, turtleneck, tee, skirt, joggers, leather leggings, black jeans, baggy/ripped jeans, adidas, boots, purse. The necklace, sunnies and scarf are accessories you can add to any outfit.

Outfit 9 had a sort of preppy vibe and I was unsure of wearing a leather jacket with a leather skirt but then I thought “there can never be enough leather” (faux, that is). I like how the plaid goes with the three Adidas stripes, pulls the outfit together. Of course I had to tuck the flannel in and wear socks that show out of my sneakers.

Outfit 10 was super comfy, layering the flannel under the cowl-neck sweater. Layering a button down shirt under a sweater is a cool way to add dimension to an outfit and keep warm. I love the way oversized sweaters look paired with an a-line skirt for Fall.

More outfits have arrived! Since a lot of the pieces are black or grey, wearing light coloured jeans add a lot more colour to the outfit without being too wild. I mean light wash jeans aren’t really wild at all, but you know what I mean. I usually like to wear a belt with these jeans, since they are slightly high-waisted and of course, tuck in my shirt.

Outfit number 7 was simple, it included the jacket, lace-up top, jeans, boots and purse. The length of the top and the slightly high-waisted pants met right in the middle for the perfect balance. Adding a belt would be a great idea as well to add an interest point in the middle of the outfit.

Outfit 8 was really cozy, mostly because of the scarf. The long tee looked cool with the crop of the jacket. Another simple outfit; jacket, tee, jeans, boots and purse. This outfit gives off a slouchy yet put together vibe because of the baggy jeans contrasting with the tailored jacket.

Sporty Layers

Coming right at you with another outfit post in Scotland. It’s getting a little colder here, so the layers are coming out; beanie, multiple shirts and a heavier jacket. I wanted to make this look sporty/casual and my bomber jacket was the inspiration. Not going to lie, I bought this jacket in Germany right before coming to Scotland because of the plaid lining (I wanted to feel a little bit Scottish before arriving). Instead of wearing workout leggings, I opted for a more stylish option to add some texture to the outfit, this being (faux) leather leggings. DSC00773 DSC00769 DSC00786 DSC00785 DSC00793 DSC00790 If you remember me talking about my favourite oversized tee from Brandy Melville then let me tell you, it’s also the best tee to layer under sweaters or other shirts.  DSC00782 DSC00780 If you hear people say that your shoes tie your outfit together, they are right. This outfit would not have been the same without some Adidas Originals

Good/Casual Friday

And the long weekend begins…woohoo! I’m at home with my Family this weekend, so I went out today and did some errands. I went for a casual outfit that was also perfect for Spring. So, naturally, I went for my leather jacket, tee and girlfriend jeans. Now, if you’re asking what girlfriend jeans are, here is the answer; they are better then your boyfriends old, baggy jeans, they are the new fit that is shaped just for us women. No more saggy butt boyfriend jeans…lol. Holler! Hope you like this outfit! Stay tuned this weekend, I’m going to be sharing my fav dresses to wear for Easter!

Winter Basics

Lately, all I’ve been wanting to wear is basic tees, leather leggings, skinny jeans, long cardigan and layered outfits. It may have something to do with the fact that it is freezing outside and I have to admit, it’s hard to put outfits together in the winter. If it’s icy outside, you have to wear shoes that won’t slip or get ruined by the salt and you have to cover every inch of your skin so you don’t get frostbite. Needless to say, winter sucks sometimes!

When getting dressed in the morning, I realized that I don’t really have the basics that I need. I’ve been looking online for what I want and I thought I would share with you guys some winter basics to have if you live in a cold climate, like me. Of course, make these basics your own style and choose colours you love, shapes that suit your body and layer how you like.

Prep x Texture

IMG_2570

TBH, I am in love with this look. The texture of the sweater mixed with the pattern of the flannel is my favourite. I could probably wear layers like this almost everyday. When I am getting dressed in the morning I sometimes have to remind myself that I have already worn the button-down and sweater combination three times this week already. Maybe that was an exaggeration but I think you get the point. I think when you find a style you love, you want to wear it all the time. The good thing is, these obsessions are usually not long-lived because there are so many other styles to be obsessed with.

IMG_2577Enough rambling and on to the important stuff. If you saw my latest video, you saw I love these new shiny leggings, they are superrrrrrrr comfortable and you can dress them preppy (like I did here) or dress them up for a night out. I am wearing my leather ankle booties because of the gold zipper to add some more detail to my outfit. I had to eventually put my jacket on because it was so hard to pose for photos in the freezing cold weather. I wish I could have a jacket to wear for every outfit so that I could take pics with it on. For now, I’ll keep dreaming and suffer through the cold. Lastly, I recently bought the matte lipstick ‘Stunner’ by Mac x Nasty Gal and this colour is the red lipstick of everyone’s dreams.
