I thought I would do a different type of post today and show you my necklace collection. I am pretty nosy and love seeing what is in people’s closet or makeup collection. I’m going to split this post into two parts; my statement necklaces and my everyday necklaces. I want to share how I wear them and why I love them. I have a lot more silver then gold because I find silver goes with a lot more colours and outfits. Hopefully this gives you some new ideas on how to wear your necklaces!
So here are the statement necklaces I have on rotation. Be sure to head over to my Instagram to see these necklaces in action!
This is the ultimate statement necklace and I usually like to wear it with a plain tee or flannel. All the attention has to be on the necklace, duh. I like the edgy, rocker vibe it gives off. This one is from Aldo.
This is my latest addition and I am obsessed. Like I said in my Instagram post, I feel like an Egyptian queen when I put it on. I think wearing a white top looks amazing with this colour of gold. Or maybe I feel like a tanned goddess when I wear it. This one is from Dynamite.
Apparently coins are the new thing in necklaces and apparently I am obsessed with them. This necklaces is a little toned down but still grabs most of the attention when wearing it. It fits a bit tighter on the neck so it is kind of like a chocker style. I wear this necklace a lot, with dressy tanks, tees, dresses. This one is from Express.
The necklaces reminds me of the chains that members of punk rock bands wear, and I’m kind of digging it. This one is also pretty toned down so it’s really easy to style with, you can basically wear any shirt. This one is from Dynamite.
I have worn this one quite a bit and I love the layers of thin chain, it adds a cool draping effect. It’s pretty simple but adds a lot of cool detail to your outfit. Recently, I actually wore this necklace hanging off a pair of distressed, black skinnies and I LOVED IT. I saw Gigi Hadid wear it as one of her festival looks and I died. I came back to earth and am obsessed with doing it. This one is from Express.
In the old days, women used to buy a new wardrobe for each season but now a days that ain’t the case. For us women who don’t want to spend a lot to update our wardrobe, I came up with a list of pieces to update your closet for the Spring season, for under $100. SCORE!!! I usually find that buying new accessories like bags, scarves, shoes and only a couple tops/bottoms will revamp your wardrobe. Hope you enjoy and comment what you like best!!
Since the weather is warming up and you’ll be going out more, you’ll want a bag that is versatile and can carry all your goodies without feeling like you’re carrying 200lbs on your shoulder | Forever 21 $27.90
Spring can still be a little chilly, so opt for a lighter scarf that still adds depth to your outfits. Make sure to get one that matches your Spring jackets. Paisley is back for Spring and adds a twist to the classic floral pattern. | Dynamite $19.95
Spring=Rain and it sucks, but get double the wear out of the coat you buy for Spring. This rain coat will keep you dry but still makes you look so good and Spring-y…is that a word? Say goodbye to those bright yellow rain coats and make a statement in a good way. | Asos $38.73
Time to shoes those little piggies! Lol for real though, this open toe/open heel bootie gives a fresh new look to your black ankle bootie. Fresh new look, fresh flowers means Spring. | Forever 21 $39.90
Switch out your black skinnies for a pair of lighter wash denim. Try a boyfriend fit, high rise or distressed pair to change it up. Sheinside $21.33
For a grand total of $147.81 you can get all these items (or ones similar) to give your wardrobe a fresh new look for Spring. These items can easily be paired with colours and styles from your existing wardrobe which means you don’t have to spend a lot to change it up. Also buying a new lip colour or blush is a great addition to your Spring look. Try out a coral/peachy blush and a pink lip.
Mixing patterns can be tricky to pull off, but once you get it, your outfit looks amazing. I went for more subtle pattern mixing, with a plaid flannel and leopard print sneakers. Since both pieces are at opposite ends of the body, nothing clashed. I also haven’t worn my wool hat in a while and I felt like throwing it on, one of those last minute decisions. Have a great Friday!!
I said a couple posts ago that I wanted to start taking pics of my everyday outfits to post on my blog and here I am! An everyday outfit post on my blog. The weather was a lot warmer today (woop!) so I got to wear a lighter jacket and some sneakers. Sadly, the cold weather will be back with vengeance.
Yesterday at the mall, I was inspired by a few outfits I saw and wanted to create the styles I saw, but in my own way. Layers, layers are so popular for the colder seasons and it’s amazing what textures and colours can look good mixed and matched.
One more thing; one of my many fashion mottos: “You can never wear too much (faux) leather”.
(faux) Leather Jacket: Urban Planet
Lace-trimmed tank: Express
Backpack: Call it Spring
As I said in my last post, I am camping for the next couple weeks so I will be sharing the outfits I wear and what I am up to whilst wearing them! After a 3 hour road trip on Sunday morning with my sister we finally arrived at the campground, we got changed and headed straight on over the the Antique Flea Market that is on every Sunday. There are so many cool items from lawn ornaments, real leather goods, antique signs and so much more. You really never know what you will find. I wore my button down striped dress from Dynamite because I felt it was appropriate to wear a casual dress and because it was super hot. I got a cotton candy bath bomb (omg you would not believe how amazing it smelt) and an iron man phone case (I have a never-ending love for Iron Man). Needless to say it was a great day.
On today’s agenda; the beach strip! On your way down to Grand Bend Beach you will find numerous clothing stores, jewellery stores and little knick knack shops. This strip is basically the Canadian version of the Jersey Shore. Didn’t pull out the debit card today but I will sure be back to find some beachy bracelets and a huge towel so I can tan all day.
Next on the list of activities to do, my family and I went to the dog beach (Charlie our husky-lab mix and Winnie our collie-sheppard mix are the two cutest dogs in the world). Of course us humans can swim too so I HAD to wear my new bathing suit (check out my last post!) and my romper from Express which has the cutest lace tie-up back.
To end the day on a relaxing note before dinner, my sister and I went for a bike ride. Spandex shorts are definitely necessary with a comfy shirt and a plaid flannel just in case it gets cold.

I thought I would do a surprise post showing you guys my favourite items I have bought recently! Even though my bank account says no, I have to say yes and NEVER TURN DOWN SHOPPING. Sometimes when I am out and about I think to myself “What is life if I am not even buying the things I like or want” so clearly at that point I start spending. I have been on the lookout for a bathing suit that is different from all the rest; meaning no bandeaus or string bikinis. I like to have something that not a lot of people would wear. I went into Dynamite and saw that all their bathing suits were on sale (JACKPOT!) so I headed on over to the table and started browsing. The bathing suit below caught my eye because of the bright colours and how well they blended together. Obviously the back of the top and the sides of the bottom are the best part, although at first I thought “No I can’t buy this, I will get really weird tan lines” but that didn’t matter as soon as I tried it on. I was sold. We all know that feeling when you first try something you like on and it looks and feels amazing. That was how I felt. Sexy, cool, beachy.
This next new item that has entered my wardrobe is a pair of peep toe sling-backs. I cannot even begin to tell you how long I have searched and searched and searched for a pair of shoes like this. I have spend countless hours looking online at every shoe store possible, every apparel store possible and not one pair yelled to me saying “BUY ME, I BELONG ON YOUR FEET LILLY!” But then, I took a trip over to Winners to buy some hangers and an umbrella. Obviously, I can’t help but look through the entire store while on the hunt. So you know the saying where when you’re least expecting it, you find what you’re looking for (that may have been a slightly different interpretation of it). That is what happened at Winners; I had just browsed my way through the purse and luggage aisles and started to head into the shoes. Skipped right to the aisle of my size and started looking and then it was like my eyes went straight to these babies. My heart probably skipped a beat because I had found a pair that was finally THE PAIR. You know what the perfect part is, they only had one pair in the entire store and it was my size so I would basically call that a miracle. A few ways to wear these shoes would be with: a pair of boyfriend jeans and white Tee (add some statement jewelry or a bold lip), your favourite summer dress or LBD, high waist distressed shorts and an oversized button down.
I’ll be going camping for the next couple weeks and will definitely keep up with the blog. All posts will be super beachy and nature inspired so hope you all will love them! Let me know what you think below and be sure to follow me on Instagram @hungry4sytle_
