Update… Vacation Time!

Hey everyone!! I just wanted to write a post to give a heads up about what’s going on in my life. I am going on vacation to Cuba for a week and that being said, I’m not bringing my laptop with me 😦 This means no posts for a week, unless my sister will let me use her iPad,  hehe. I will try to post at least one picture a day on Instagram so be sure to follow me @hungry4style_ and you can see what I am up to and what I will be wearing. Once I am back home, there will DEFINITELY be a lot of posts to come! Posts about swimwear, beach fashion, travel fashion and much more! The day after I get back I will be at school for my fourth semester, and that also means back to being in Toronto! Woohoo!!

Thanks for supporting me and enjoy the rest of your holidays!!

Beaches, Bikes and Bikinis

As I said in my last post, I am camping for the next couple weeks so I will be sharing the outfits I wear and what I am up to whilst wearing them! After a 3 hour road trip on Sunday  morning with my sister we finally arrived at the campground, we got changed and headed straight on over the the Antique Flea Market that is on every Sunday. There are so many cool items from lawn ornaments, real leather goods, antique signs and so much more. You really never know what you will find. I wore my button down striped dress from Dynamite because I felt it was appropriate to wear a casual dress and because it was super hot. I got a cotton candy bath bomb (omg you would not believe how amazing it smelt) and an iron man phone case (I have a never-ending love for Iron Man). Needless to say it was a great day.

On today’s agenda; the beach strip! On your way down to Grand Bend Beach you will find numerous clothing stores, jewellery stores and little knick knack shops. This strip is basically the Canadian version of the Jersey Shore. Didn’t pull out the debit card today but I will sure be back to find some beachy bracelets and a huge towel so I can tan all day.

Next on the list of activities to do, my family and I went to the dog beach (Charlie our husky-lab mix and Winnie our collie-sheppard mix are the two cutest dogs in the world). Of course us humans can swim too so I HAD to wear my new bathing suit (check out my last post!) and my romper from Express which has the cutest lace tie-up back.

To end the day on a relaxing note before dinner, my sister and I went for a bike ride. Spandex shorts are definitely necessary with a comfy shirt and a plaid flannel just in case it gets cold.

Never turn down shopping

I thought I would do a surprise post showing you guys my favourite items I have bought recently! Even though my bank account says no, I have to say yes and NEVER TURN DOWN SHOPPING. Sometimes when I am out and about I think to myself “What is life if I am not even buying the things I like or want” so clearly at that point I start spending. I have been on the lookout for a bathing suit that is different from all the rest; meaning no bandeaus or string bikinis. I like to have something that not a lot of people would wear. I went into Dynamite and saw that all their bathing suits were on sale (JACKPOT!) so I headed on over to the table and started browsing. The bathing suit below caught my eye because of the bright colours and how well they blended together. Obviously the back of the top and the sides of the bottom are the best part, although at first I thought “No I can’t buy this, I will get really weird tan lines” but that didn’t matter as soon as I tried it on. I was sold. We all know that feeling when you first try something you like on and it looks and feels amazing. That was how I felt. Sexy, cool, beachy.

This next new item that has entered my wardrobe is a pair of peep toe sling-backs. I cannot even begin to tell you how long I have searched and searched and searched for a pair of shoes like this. I have spend countless hours looking online at every shoe store possible, every apparel store possible and not one pair yelled to me saying “BUY ME, I BELONG ON YOUR FEET LILLY!” But then, I took a trip over to Winners to buy some hangers and an umbrella. Obviously, I can’t help but look through the entire store while on the hunt. So you know the saying where when you’re least expecting it, you find what you’re looking for (that may have been a slightly different interpretation of it). That is what happened at Winners; I had just browsed my way through the purse and luggage aisles and started to head into the shoes. Skipped right to the aisle of my size and started looking and then it was like my eyes went straight to these babies. My heart probably skipped a beat because I had found a pair that was finally THE PAIR. You know what the perfect part is, they only had one pair in the entire store and it was my size so I would basically call that a miracle. A few ways to wear these shoes would be with: a pair of boyfriend jeans and white Tee (add some statement jewelry or a bold lip), your favourite summer dress or LBD, high waist distressed shorts and an oversized button down.

I’ll be going camping for the next couple weeks and will definitely keep up with the blog. All posts will be super beachy and nature inspired so hope you all will love them! Let me know what you think below and be sure to follow me on Instagram @hungry4sytle_

What’s in the Bag??!

Screen Shot 2014-06-24 at 5.22.34 PMScreen Shot 2014-06-24 at 4.41.55 PM

What is in your summer bag? Lip chap, money, sunglasses, receipts from that bar on the beach…. That is probably what is in everyone’s bag during the summer. Summer means bright colours, sun and Starbucks (well Starbucks is a year round necessity but I mean coffee fraps, right?). Summer is a time to go the beach..everyday; go on a road trip with your girls or even just exploring the little shops downtown. There are so many great things to do during the summer so you need to have a well packed bag, all the time. In lou of it officially being Summer, I went on over to Polyvore to help guide us ladies on what should be in our summer bag, at all times.

I am really loving bright colours this season because tbh, it makes me looked tan and it stands out. Hot pinks, bright blues, pumpkin oranges, lime green.. they are all great colours to add to your accessories this season. The bag I chose for summer is a ‘bucket bag’ because it is so stylish and versatile yet it can literally carry anything and everything. It can fit all you need for a day at the beach or just your wallet and keys for going downtown with your girls.

I am literally obsessed with skulls so when I found this little coin purse, it was so tough yet so chic and feminine. It can also double as a really small clutch just incase you don’t feel like carrying your bag around. A few months ago I went into Kate Spade for the first time and fell in love with this bright pink wallet (still haven’t bought it yet). So since it is the right colour for Summer I may have to go out and buy it.

In the beauty department there are a few essentials that should always be in your bag; mini vaseline lip care, Lush lip scrub (great for exfoliating lips, removing dry skin and leaving lips smooth with a great taste), bright matte lipstick (so it stays on all day), face powder (just because Summer is hot and your face will show that… I am talking about that damn shine!), your fav perfume (to make sure you smell good all day and all night, duh) and finally we need to protect our skin so make sure you have a small bottle of facial &/or body sunscreen. Don’t forget to protect those eyes and always have a pair of sunglasses (my fav this season is the thick black trimmed, cat eye style).

I think it is a good idea to keep a notebook and pen in your bag, you may want to remember things you did that day, add to your ‘things to do this summer’ list or just doodle while lying on the beach. I recently bought my own notebook because I want to start writing my own fashion book.

Last but certainly not least, you need some money!! Nothing is free.. waw waw wawww. So make sure you have some cash on you or a debit/credit card. They always come in handy for impulse buys. Another key card to have is your Starbucks card because lets be real here, getting an iced coffee is just as important as brushing your teeth.
