Outfits 17+18 | 15 pieces.. 20 ways

It’s all about the leather and black in outfits 17+18…what else is new? Layers are making another comeback in these outfits because lets get real, if you can wear multiple items at once and still look sweet, then why not, amiright?

THE 15 PIECES ARE: jacket, cardigan, tank, lace-up shirt, flannel, turtleneck, tee, skirt, joggers, leather leggings, black jeans, baggy/ripped jeans, adidas, boots, purse. The necklace, sunnies and scarf are accessories you can add to any outfit.

Outfit 17 had a lot of layers, again, a necessity for the fall weather. I used my scarf kind of as my jacket, wrapped around my shoulders. I added the flannel around the waste for a sporty look.

Outfit 18 kind of had the same vibe, but I actually wore my flannel and added a leather jacket. I think it looks cool how the shirt is really long, the flannel is a bit shorter and then the jacket is a lot shorter. Wearing two items with leather is okay here because it’s broken up by the shirts.

Distressed denim is a great piece to style a number of ways, I’d say you can even wear them out for a nice dinner with the girls. Add some heels and a statement necklace, good to go! These outfits are more casual; sneakers and a flannel.

Outfit 15 includes tucking in the flannel to give some shape to the outfit, since the jeans are pretty baggy. Still a casual outfit, where you can add any accessories to style it your own way.

Outfit 16 is the same basic concept of tucking in the flannel to give shape to the outfit; since the jeans and now cardigan, are quite oversized. I went full on prep and buttoned up my flannel all way and added a statement necklace; it adds a bit more detail to the outfit and dresses it up a bit more. Although, this outfit can’t be too dressy because of the Adidas.

As I’m creating different ways to wear these 15 pieces, I find that I gravitate to mixing the same tops together.  I’m trying to explore new options and find new ways to wear each piece. Back to basics in black jeans and ankle boots; two important pieces to style a number of ways.

Outfit 13 includes some colour!! This burnt orange looks great with all black (duh, black matches everything). Still a casual look, with black jeans, boots and a leather jacket.

DSC01775

Outfit 14 had to include the scarf again because it kept my hands and body warm while shooting. Blanket scarfs are a MUST HAVE for the fall/winter season. Wearing black jeans, tee and leather jacket for this look. I decided to show a little bit of my socks through my boots, it was seriously a coincidence that they matched my scarf.

More outfits!! I’m finally styling the leather leggings, two different ways today. Leather leggings can be dressed up or down so they’re a great piece to pack.

Outfit 11 was a mix of dressing up/down, the silver necklace and chiffon tank dressed it up, while the oversized cardigan dressed it down. Adding another jacket over top is a way to wear this outfit for the colder months. This outfit includes the bag, cardigan, tank, leggings, boots and sunglasses.

Outfit 12 included a new hat that I bought so of course, it’s optional. I added the oversized tee, leather jacket and threw on my scarf and hat. Wearing two different tones of grey looked cool with the all black outfit. Definitely going to be wearing this scarf more often because it’s getting colder and colder.

The easiest way to make a lot of outfits from a limited amount of pieces is to layer. Layering is also key when it comes to the cold weather. Speaking of cold weather, dannnnnng, it has been getting colder and colder. I needed to get the outfits with the skirt done because soon enough, everything will be covered by my huge winter parka.

Outfit 9 had a sort of preppy vibe and I was unsure of wearing a leather jacket with a leather skirt but then I thought “there can never be enough leather” (faux, that is). I like how the plaid goes with the three Adidas stripes, pulls the outfit together. Of course I had to tuck the flannel in and wear socks that show out of my sneakers.

Outfit 10 was super comfy, layering the flannel under the cowl-neck sweater. Layering a button down shirt under a sweater is a cool way to add dimension to an outfit and keep warm. I love the way oversized sweaters look paired with an a-line skirt for Fall.

BEAUTY HAUL + REVIEW

Haul means shopping and shopping means fun so let’s get started! I can’t resist going into Boots or Superdrug once in a while and picking up some new goodies. I mostly only buy stuff because I didn’t pack it with me or I ran out.Let me know if you have tried these products as well and what you think! All links to products will be listed at the bottom if you’re interested.

I saw LustreLux on YouTube raving about these brushes and they just looked so cool, I had to buy them. I’m a fan of Real Technique brushes and these did not let me down! I use the middle one to apply highlight, the small one for blending and the big on to apply bronzer (for a natural look). I also needed another blending sponge and this one is great for blending under-eye concealer.

DSC01144

I’ve been dying to buy something from Tanya Burr’s cosmetics line, I either wanted an eyeshadow palette or a lip gloss. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the line and felt that getting this nude gloss (called ‘Lunch Date’) would be a great first buy. The gloss is really pigmented so I can wear it on it’s own or overtop another nude lipstick. ALSO, the smell, omg, it smells so amazing, sort of fruity but like, a mature fruity smell. Next thing to buy is definitely some nail polish because every colour was amazing.

DSC01147 DSC01150

These two Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal liners from Rimmel are amazing. They glide on so smoothly and don’t budge throughout the day. I use the colour 005 nude on my lower, inner lash-line to brighten my eyes (helps with those days I got 5 hours of sleep) and the colour 001 black on my upper lash-line or to smudge on the outer edge of my eye.

DSC01152

Every Fall, I always wear a dark burgundy nail for a while because I feel that’s the only colour of the season that matches any outfit I wear (besides black). This is the colour ‘burgundy kiss’ from Maybelline, it doesn’t chip that fast but I also don’t have a top coat here so adding a top coat will make it last a lot longer, for sure.

DSC01153

I finally got a Kylie Jenner lip colour!! AKA, brown lipstick, I love this one from L’oreal (703, oud obsession), it has a hint of shine to it but just gives off a really pretty brown colour with a tint of red.

DSC01163

Usually, I fill in my brows with a mousse or powder, but I have always wanted to explore using a pencil. Must I say, it is so much easier and quicker to use then a brush and powder. As long as it’s sharpened, I get just the right amount of colour and fullness. I can still even create a point at the end of my brows with this pencil. I definitely recommend this one from Maybelline called Mastershape brow pencil, I use the colour soft brown.

DSC01158

I ran out of my foundation and I’ve heard a lot of good things about the two foundations Bourjois carries. I decided to try the Healthy Mix one in the colour Vanilla. It leaves quite a dewy finish, so I need to set with powder or I’ll be shining by 2 pm. Otherwise, it covers what I want but still looks natural, again with the scent, it smells great and refreshing.

DSC01161

Since the above foundation is dewy, I wanted to try a mattifying primer. I did some research on this one by L’oreal and most people said that it prolonged the wear while keeping shine down. I would have to agree, I starting getting shiny later in the day then when I normally would. It’s a silicone base so it smoothes into the skin quite easily. Similar to the Smashbox photo ready primer.

More outfits have arrived! Since a lot of the pieces are black or grey, wearing light coloured jeans add a lot more colour to the outfit without being too wild. I mean light wash jeans aren’t really wild at all, but you know what I mean. I usually like to wear a belt with these jeans, since they are slightly high-waisted and of course, tuck in my shirt.

Outfit number 7 was simple, it included the jacket, lace-up top, jeans, boots and purse. The length of the top and the slightly high-waisted pants met right in the middle for the perfect balance. Adding a belt would be a great idea as well to add an interest point in the middle of the outfit.

DSC01173

Outfit 8 was really cozy, mostly because of the scarf. The long tee looked cool with the crop of the jacket. Another simple outfit; jacket, tee, jeans, boots and purse. This outfit gives off a slouchy yet put together vibe because of the baggy jeans contrasting with the tailored jacket.
