Outfits 3 + 4 | 15 Pieces.. 20 ways

Outfits 3 and 4 are here! Definitely going for a casual, #tgif look here with sneakers and a leather jacket. As usual, here’s the collage of the 15 pieces and below are two ways to style the pieces.

THE 15 PIECES ARE: jacket, cardigan, tank, lace-up shirt, flannel, turtleneck, tee, skirt, joggers, leather leggings, black jeans, baggy/ripped jeans, adidas, boots, purse. The necklace, sunnies and scarf are accessories you can add to any outfit.

Outfit number three was a little bit risky for me because I don’t usually like wearing crop tops, mostly because you can tell that I have ate a lot of food that day, relatable though? But I love the colour of this top and the lace-up so I couldn’t resist. You could easily wear high-waisted pants and tuck it in. I wore my joggers for a comfy/sporty look to match with the sneakers. Overall, this outfit includes the lace-up top, leather jacket, bag, joggers and sneakers.

Outfit number four was all about being cozy and comfy, two words that one must associate with Fall. A cowl neck, knit sweater plus a huge, fuzzy scarf = the best Fall outfit ever. I tucked in the front of the sweater to separate the pieces and to keep the outfit from looking to baggy. In addition, wearing a top-knot is my favourite lazy day hairstyle that still looks like you put effort in. This outfit includes the cowl neck sweater, joggers and sneakers.   DSC01036

outfits 1 + 2 | 15 pieces..20 ways

This marks the first post in my 10 post series. A little reminder, there will be 2 outfits per post (2 outfits x 10 posts =20 outfits) as well as the collage of 15 pieces.  I’ll be mix and matching with all the pieces below to make 20 different outfits! Hope you enjoy and get some new inspiration for your garments.

Outfits 1 + 2 are all about simplicity, wearing the basics but adding a cool necklace or layering up. One of my all time fav basics are black skinnies, they can be worn so many ways it’s insane. Outfit numero uno consisted of the black jeans, tank, jacket, bag and booties. I added a necklace to pull the eye away from all the black in the outfit. This outfit would be great for grabbing a bite after class or work.

Outfit number two consisted of the black jeans, flannel, cardigan, bag and booties. The cardigan is really long and oversized so it actually keeps you warm (for now, that is). Here we go again with tucking my shirt in, I can’t help myself; I only tucked one part in so that not every top I was wearing was flowing in the same way. I think it adds some dimension to an outfit. This outfit is really comfy, so definitely going to be wearing this to class or while out and about doing errands. DSC01013

FALL in an outfit

I feel like I was the most fall one could be in this outfit, minus the fact I wasn’t carrying a pumpkin spiced latte. The colours of my scarcho (scarf+poncho) mixed with the blue denim just felt right. TBH, I don’t wear this scarcho that much because it’s hard to layer over top of a jacket, but if the weather is being nice then it’s definitely wearable. However, I do sometimes wear it as a scarf and bundle it around my neck. Hope you get some inspiration for your fall outfits!

I started out with a braid in my hair because I felt the look was very ‘equestrian’ and then for some pictures I looked like I had a pixie cut so had to let the mane loose. Ya’ll know I love tucking in shirts so adding a belt with my high-waisted jeans added to the ‘equestrian’ vibes. I’m using air quotes because that’s just what I think of but who really knows because I know nothing about horse riding gear. DSC00975 DSC00960 DSC00925 DSC00986 DSC00939

Series: 15 pieces..20 ways

Are ya’ll ready for this? I’m starting a series of 10 posts, about 15 key pieces to pack while traveling and 20 different outfits you can make from them. I bet you’ve seen the articles on Pinterest of ‘How to pack for 3 months in a carry on’ or ’10 pieces, 20 outfits’. They always intrigue me because I love packing and I love finding new ways to wear the clothes I have. This series will be my spin on these posts.

Let’s get the deets:

  • The most important detail is that this series is a part of my coursework for University in Scotland. I figured since I came here with only two suitcases, and had to pack minimally, it would be a great idea to share the different ways to wear what I packed.
  • The outfits will be for Fall weather (if you live in a colder climate), I’m living in Scotland right now which has similar weather to my home in Canada.
  • Each post will have 2 outfits featured in it (2 outfits x 10 posts=20 outfits… yay!) and the collage of the 15 pieces. I will be talking about why I paired these together and where you can wear them.
  • Accessories, bags and makeup are not included in the 15 key pieces because they are items that do not take up a lot of room in your suitcase and can be worn with every single outfit created

I hope you enjoy this series and are inspired to find new ways to wear your clothes, whether you’re travelling or at home. Thanks for reading and I’ll talk to you soon!

Sporty Layers

Coming right at you with another outfit post in Scotland. It’s getting a little colder here, so the layers are coming out; beanie, multiple shirts and a heavier jacket. I wanted to make this look sporty/casual and my bomber jacket was the inspiration. Not going to lie, I bought this jacket in Germany right before coming to Scotland because of the plaid lining (I wanted to feel a little bit Scottish before arriving). Instead of wearing workout leggings, I opted for a more stylish option to add some texture to the outfit, this being (faux) leather leggings. DSC00773 DSC00769 DSC00786 DSC00785 DSC00793 DSC00790 If you remember me talking about my favourite oversized tee from Brandy Melville then let me tell you, it’s also the best tee to layer under sweaters or other shirts.  DSC00782 DSC00780 If you hear people say that your shoes tie your outfit together, they are right. This outfit would not have been the same without some Adidas Originals

Everyday Makeup | College

Here in the UK, it is only the second week of school and I’ve noticed that I am a little lazier in the morning and am not spending as much time on makeup. Less time = less products. I definitely would rather sleep longer then wake up earlier to get ready for class and I’m sure a ton of you are with me on that #beautysleep. I wanted to share the products that I use for the days when I have early morning class or when I’m just going out to get some groceries or to the mall.

Basically, there are 7 steps to this routine and they are listed below! Click the links if you want to check out the product.

  1. As I’m writing this, I forgot the first initial step, woopsies. The real first step is primer, I’m currently using Benefit Porefessional or Smashbox primer water. They both help my makeup last longer but the porefessional helps my foundation go on smooth, especially around and on my nose, where my pores are the largest. Alright, so technically this is the second step but I’m mashing it up with primer. I like to have pretty full, but natural looking coverage. Rimmel Lasting Finish is great, it covers what I want but doesn’t look cakey. I LOVE the Real Technique buffing brush for foundation, definitely recommend buying this one.
  2. If you have 9am class, concealer is a MUST, because lets be real, I go to bed at like 2am and I gotta cover those bags.  Sephora gel serum concealer has great coverage and also highlights the under-eye area. The only downside is that product only comes on the tip of the brush and it’s hard to apply to the face. I like to blend my concealer out with a dampened beauty sponge because I never have luck blending it out with a brush. I’m trying out the Real Technique sponge right now so I’m going to say it’s just like other beauty sponges.
  3. Now to make sure those liquids stay in place all day. I usually set everything with Rimmel Stay Matte powder. I like to have a matte finish at first so I don’t get oily throughout the day. A large fluffy brush will do the trick to apply this.
  4. Time to add some definition to my face, ain’t nobody got time to contour before a 9am class so just bronzing up your face will look natural and add some shape. I use Rimmel sun shimmer bronzer on my cheekbones, hairline and jaw. If you want a more defined look, just focus more product on your upper cheekbone, closer to your ear. Using a more tapered fluffy brush works well to bronze up the face.
  5. Yes, highlight on fleek is still very present in my life. I just love that glow. I pick up my Zoeva luxe highlight brush and apply some Too Faced candlelight glow powder to the highpoints of my cheek, above my brows and on the bridge of my nose.
  6. Another way to shape your face is to fill in those brows. I do a couple swipes of Clinique Brow Mousse to get a natural look. In the morning, it takes too long to fill my brows in with powder, a mousse or gel is a great on-the-go option.
  7. Lastly, I apply a few coats of mascara. I ALWAYS curl my lashes before applying mascara or you won’t even be able to tell I have mascara on. I feel that mascara is very personal preference because everyone looks for something different. I do love the colour of Clinique Chubby Mascara in black honey.

Voila! That is the finished makeup look. It usually only takes around 15 minutes in the morning and then I’m good to go. Then, of course, I take like ten years deciding what to wear. I hope you liked this and share below what products you like on an everyday basis.

OOTD | IN SCOTLAND!

I’ve been in Scotland for about two weeks and I friken love it here. It’s nothing like Toronto, or Canada for that matter. It’s so funny to see and experience all the differences between countries. To name one, no one piles onto the busses, no pushing or shoving (like on the TTC), they make a line and enter the bus in an orderly fashion…..crazy concept!

Onto the good stuff, I finally took some photos!! There are so many spots to take photos because every building looks like a cool castle. Everything is grey which makes for a great aesthetic, which is what it’s all about these days. Went to a park down the street from the residence I’m living in and got some shots. I have to say though, I regret everything I packed and so my outfits are literally just jeans, a tee or sweater and leather jacket. I do go to the shops like everyday, so hopefully I can mix it up once and a while.

OKAY. Legit though, I have been looking for an oversized black tee since birth and guess what? I FINALLY FOUND IT. I never usually look in Brandy Melville because I felt the ‘one size fits all’ wouldn’t fit me. While in Rome, as they say, I went into their store and tried this one on and I didn’t fall in love until I got back to the hotel and tried it on again. The tee is super soft and just flows every which way I wanted it too. It fits a bit tighter on the chest and arms and flows out.
